Sunny South of France

The warm hues of Menton's architecture rise up from the Mediterranean. This is a wonderful town, not far from Nice, but very pleasant and it seemed much less touristy. I wouldn't mind living here!

Nice Harbor

Using a photo from our trip to the South of France, I decided to enhance the color and contrast even though the original photo already had lots of Mediterranean color.

Desert Oasis

The Marriott Desert Ridge is a beautiful resort any time of the year. While some areas retain the natural Sonoran Desert landscaping with abundant quail, rabbits and hummingbirds, other areas give the impression of a colorful oasis rising out of the surrounding desert. I love to visit and enjoy a cold drink within view of the soothing brook.

Lighthouse, Grand Turk

This lighthouse was built in London in 1852 and shipped to the island of Grand Turk in the Caribbean. It was necessary because an increasing number of shipwrecks in the shallows off the northern coast were threatening the island's salt trade.

Blessings

I photographed this colorful wooden figure, which I assume is a Buddha, at the Brass Armadillo antique store near our home in Phoenix. After removing it from its plain background, I added a dark brown texture and a texture mask, both from Shadowhouse Creations.

Old with the New

Amsterdam is a city of contrasts, a place where you can take in historic architecture and picturesque canal scenes punctuated by the occasional modern building or art installation. It all works together.

Everglades Alligator

While in the Everglades, we took an airboat ride and enjoyed seeing the wildlife, including vultures, all variety of birds, and this alligator, which swam next to us for quite a while.

Desert Living II

The Boulders resort in Carefree, Arizona makes the most of its Sonoran Desert location by blending into its dramatic natural surroundings. We spent our anniversary there two years ago and hope to return soon.

Dance of the Orbs

The tree was photographed in Balboa Park, San Diego and a bokeh texture from Shadowhouse Creations was added. I liked the effect, which reminded me of 'ghostly' photos I've seen taken in graveyards or other spooky places.

Cassis Boat Harbor

The sunny small boat harbor at Cassis is the jumping off point for boat tours of the famous Calanques - the steep-walled, limestone coves that line the Mediterranean between Marseilles and Cassis in southern France.

Barcelona Theater

This building at the corner of Passeig de Gracia is home to the Cinema Comedia. I believe the building functioned as a palace at one time. Although this statue was in front of the cinema when we were there, I've since seen many photos which don't show the statue any longer, so perhaps it was only temporary.
