The large, oddly shaped building in the background is the wonderful NEMO Science Center of Amsterdam. The current building was designed by Renzo Piano in 1997. The hands-on museum is the fifth most visited museum in the Netherlands.

The De Adriaan Windmill in Haarlem is a 2002 reconstruction of an original which was built in 1779, but unfortunately burnt down in 1932. The cause of the fire was never determined.

Old with the New

Amsterdam is a city of contrasts, a place where you can take in historic architecture and picturesque canal scenes punctuated by the occasional modern building or art installation. It all works together.

Bridge, Enkhuizen

One of the bridges in Enkhuizen, Holland. Through the arch of the bridge can be seen the church tower of St. Pancras, built in 1450.

Permanent Residents

Although several buildings are located on the Zuiderzee Museum property at Enkhuizen, goats are supposedly the only creatures who live onsite full-time.
