Menton Postcard

A view of Menton from sea level. Situated on the Mediterranean and only a few miles from the Italian border, Menton is a highly desirable retirement destination for many expats.

Sunny South of France

The warm hues of Menton's architecture rise up from the Mediterranean. This is a wonderful town, not far from Nice, but very pleasant and it seemed much less touristy. I wouldn't mind living here!

Cassis Boat Harbor

The sunny small boat harbor at Cassis is the jumping off point for boat tours of the famous Calanques - the steep-walled, limestone coves that line the Mediterranean between Marseilles and Cassis in southern France.

Portofino

This image was taken while cruising in the Mediterranean.  Due to the rough seas, our ship's captain decided not to attempt to take passengers ashore via the tenders. I had booked an excursion to the Cinque Terre and I was incredibly disappointed to miss this opportunity. Several years later, I finally made it to the Cinque Terre, but I still haven't had the chance to visit Portofino.

Ligurian Coast

Taken on the road from Manarola to Genoa, this part of Italy is stunningly beautiful.

Antibes

Although I only spent a day in Antibes while exploring the south of France, it's one of the places that is still very vivid in my memory. I look forward to a return visit some day.
