Off to the Caribbean!

Travel Partner and I are leaving tomorrow for two weeks in the Southern Caribbean. I'm planning to take lots of photos and I'll start playing with them and adding new posts when I return.

Royal Palace and Fortress

Better known as the Tower of London, the castle fortress comprises nearly 12 acres along the bank of the Thames River. The outer curtain wall, seen above, was built in the 13th century.

Mary Arden's Farm

Mary Arden's Farm is a working Tudor farm and belonged to Shakespeare's mother. The bard may have played and worked on the farm in his childhood. This is a view of the barn.

April Flowers

This image began with a photo of wildflowers blooming around the neighborhood. Then I added writing textures from Sienna62 and boccacino.

Eleven

While walking through Florence near the Ponte Vecchio, I passed this lovely vine covered door which led to the equally lovely patio, home to several pampered looking cats. I wished that I could trade places with them!

Oceanographic Museum, Monaco

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco celebrated its 100th birthday two years ago. It has a spectacular setting atop the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean.
Adjustment layers were added for effect.

Pont du Carrousel

The Pont du Carrousel crosses the Seine and connects the Left Bank with the entry to the Palais du Louvre on the Right Bank. (Edited)

Navajo Code Talker

This statue is located near the office where I work. It was sculpted by artist Doug Hyde and is a tribute to the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II. The flute in his hand is meant to be a symbol of communication.

Gordes

Gordes is a hilltown in the Vaucluse area of southeastern France. We were driving along this road and happened to come around the corner and - voila! - there it was. Travel Partner pulled over to the side of the road so that I could take this photo.
