Castle Hill

View from Warwick Castle

View from atop the upper wall of the medieval castle in Warwick, England on the River Avon. The castle was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1608 and rebuilt in later centuries. I'm using one of my favorite mask textures from Shadowhouse Creations.

Abandoned

The Valley of the Mills sits below Piazzo Tasso in Sorrento, Italy. The former flour and saw mills were abandoned shortly after the 1866 construction of the plaza isolated it from the nearby sea and increased the humidity to the point that it was uninhabitable. The ruins are unmarked and have a sense of mystery about them.

Onofrio's Fountain, Dubrovnik

Designed by Italian architect Onofrio della Cava and built in 1438, the fountain has delivered spring water to the citizens and visitors of Dubrovnik for centuries.

Dubrovnik at Dusk

After a day of exploring Dubrovnik in a light misting rain, the clouds finally began to clear and the pastel colors of this old city began to emerge.

Mystery Castle

The Mystery Castle in the foothills of South Mountain was built in the 1930s of mostly salvaged materials. It was a gift from a father to the daughter he had left behind when she was still a child. After his death, she moved into the house with her mother and lived there the remainder of her life. It's a truly amazing place and a historic landmark in Phoenix. http://www.mymysterycastle.com/

Taormina Hotel

This hotel, like many others in Taormina, is tucked away and secluded, with the feel of a secret garden at its entry.

View from the Garden

This is the view from the Garden of the Cavalier at Boboli Gardens, Florence. I've added an Italian wallpaper texture as background and Chaos mask from Shadowhouse Creations.

Forgotten Window

This typical pointed Venetian window is part of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, or 'snail tower' located near the Rialto and dating from the 15th century.

Clock Tower, Venice

A portion of the Torre del'Orologio on Piazza San Marco in Venice. I've added textures for a distressed look and to add interest to an otherwise blank sky.

Venetian Vendors

Two young men push their cart along the Bacino Orseolo on their way to St. Mark's Square to sell their souvenirs to tourists.

Cathedral Rock, Sedona

This photo was taking while hiking beneath the majestic Cathedral Rock.
Textures used: golden confetti by pareeerica and doriath by max f. williams.

Canyon Lake

An excursion boat plys the water of Canyon Lake, Arizona below towering rock formations where big horned sheep and bald eagles can often be glimpsed. Canyon Lake is approximately 51 miles east of Phoenix. I've added a vintage postcard texture.

Desert Living

This photo was taken last fall at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. I've added a border mask from Shadowhouse Creations.

Glassware on Table

This is based on a photo I took last December in a museum on Bonaire which displayed exhibits of early plantation life.

Jeweled Decanter

I found this jeweled decanter set quite lovely and unique. I've added a grungy metal texture by unaciertamirada and a writing texture.

Barn Sweet Barn

This photo was taken at the Armadillo Antique Mall in Phoenix. I've just added a few textures for an aging effect.

Attitude

This manikin at the Armadillo Antique Mall was posed in a haughty way and I couldn't resist getting a photo. I performed a modified sketch technique on her, and replaced the peg board background with patterned floral fabric.

Fresh Daily

This is another photo taken at Whitfil Nursery, which has a building and outdoor patio filled with wonderful antiques. I've added a few textures for a dreamy, aged effect.

Summer Days Journal

This image began with a photo from my London trip. I added a fancy mask and then decided to place it on a book texture from szantoszabolcs on the Flickr texture site. I added a lock and key to make it look like a diary and then a wine label.
