The baroque Palazzo Maffei on the northwest side of the Piazza delle Erbe in Verona, Italy. The palazzo dates from the 15th century. St. Mark' winged lion, a symbol of the Venetian Republic and indication that Verona was once under Venetian rule, sits atop a marble column in front of the palazzo.

Forgotten Window
This typical pointed Venetian window is part of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, or 'snail tower' located near the Rialto and dating from the 15th century.
