Iron Door
This image is based on one of the many beautiful doors and architectural highlights at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida. I've changed the color from a green patina to golden hues with textures.

Doorway, Montecatini Alto
I photographed this doorway during an early evening stroll in Montecatini Alto, the medieval town that sits above the spa town of Montecatini and is accessible by funicular.

Red Door
This image was taken on the island of Santorini. I liked the bright red door against the backdrop of the equally bright blue sky and whitewashed stucco. I've added a texture from Shadowhouse Creations to enhance the textured look of the stucco.

At the Door
I was just playing around and trying to come up with a spooky effect for Halloween. Starting with a photo of a door that I took in Taormina, Sicily, I added a texture from Shadowhouse Creations. Then I decided to add a snippet from Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights.

Dungeon Door
Okay, so I've been getting an early start on Halloween by watching a few scary movies, and it led to this image based on the photo I took of an old door and stone walls at the Gravenstein Castle in Ghent.

Gateway to Bruges
This is actually a composite of two of my Belgium photos. The wooden doorway is actually a part of the Ghent castle property and the view through the doorway is a street near the train station in Bruges. I added a texture for which I have no source, unfortunately, as well as several adjustment layers in Photoshop CS3.

The Secret Garden
This image is a composite of two photos: a doorway at Filoli Estate in Woodside, California and a garden and cottage in Shottery, England, the town where the famous cottage of Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway, is located. I had to work at the image of the door for quite some time because the original photo had a bit too much contrast. After applying various layer adjustments and Square 116 texture from Shadowhouse Creations, I was able to get the effect I wanted.
Filoli Estate is well worth visiting if you love gardens.
