Savannah Cathedral

This photo shows the twin spires of St. John the Baptist Cathedral. One of the major visitor sights in Savannah, Georgia, the cathedral was destroyed by fire back in 1898 and subsequently rebuilt.

Cemetery Lane

This photo shows one of the Spanish moss covered paths through the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. A couple of textures from Shadowhouse Creations help to create a spooky mood.

Savannah Riverfront

This photo was taken across the Savannah River from the Historic District. The dome of the Georgia State Capitol building was originally covered in tin at its completion in 1889, and later gilded with gold leaf in 1958.

Angel with Star

This photo of an angel statue draped in Spanish moss was taken in Savannah's Bonaventure Cemetery. It was cold and dreary as we walked among the graves, but there was something very peaceful and comforting about this statue for me. Two textures from Shadowhouse Creations were added.

Bonaventure Angel

This image is a redo of a project I originally did last year for Susan Tuttle's Digital Layers class. My texture experimentation was just beginning and, although I liked the result, I felt the first attempt was a little "heavy handed."  This time I applied the same crackle texture with lighting effects.

I photographed this little angel at the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia on a cold winter day. Her bowl is often adorned with freshly cut flowers.

Back in the Day

While visiting Savannah with friends in the winter of 2009, we tracked down a popular local bakery to sample their offerings. I recall that it was a very cold day (by Phoenix standards) and as much as I was craving a sweet treat, I was also wanting a hot drink to warm me up. I ordered a hot mocha and a chocolate cupcake with coconut frosting. The salesgirl took great care in creating a beautiful design in the foam on the mocha. It was so pretty, I had to take a picture!
