With apologies to Betty for showing another sunflower image, this is one of the last sunflowers from our early summer garden.

Bee on Sunflower

There are dozens of these pollen gathering bees on our sunflowers, and they are amazingly tolerant of us while we are poking around the plants.

Three Sisters

This photo is from John's most recent progress photos of our backyard sunflowers. These three flowers are from the same plant, hence "sisters."

Sundrenched

We have lots of sunflowers blooming in the yard now and I'm fascinated by all the different colors, sizes and clusters of blooms. This started off as a contrasty photo I took a couple of mornings ago, then I decided to add a texture from rubyblossom.

Demure

This little sunflower was still in the process of opening its petals when I photographed it. I thought it looked especially delicate. I added some adjustment layers and a free texture by les brumes.

Sunflower Study

I've been taking a lot of sunflower photos lately because our backyard is filled with them. So of course I've been playing around with the photos in Photoshop. This image is one of the results of my endless experimenting. The background is a grunge flower fabric.

Red Sunflower

We planted sunflowers in the back yard and were very surprised when one of them turned out to be a red sunflower, rather than the usual yellow, as we had never seen one before.

I've added a texture by les brumes.
