Solin Ruins
The ruins of the ancient city of Solin (or Salona, as it was known in Roman times) are located northeast of Split, Croatia. Only a small portion of the extensive site has been excavated, including early Christian churches, cemeteries and the remains of a Roman amphitheater.

Lunch in the Peristyle
The ruins of Diocletian's grand palace in Split contain a monumental court called the Peristyle which is a popular place for both tourists and locals to hang out. Comprising the center of the old town, these ruins are the most complete remains of a Roman palace found anywhere.
I've added two textures from Shadowhouse Creations.

This photo was taken in Split, Croatia. I really enjoyed walking around this town and entering these old courtyards with the laundry hanging overhead. Split is a very vibrant city.

Decorative Tile, Split
Unfortunately, I don't recall much about this assortment of bricks and decorative stonework that I photographed near Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia. I have tried to find more information, but have had no luck, so I can't really say whether this sculptured tile is ancient or modern.
The texture I used is by pareeerica.
