Golden Griffin
An inn since 1374, this historic guesthouse with its distinctive griffin signage and diagonally striped shutters, is located near the marketplace in Rothenburg, Germany.

View Fit for a King
This photo was taken from Neuschwanstein, Mad King Ludwig's fairy tale castle, perched above the lakes and forests of Bavaria. I was surprised to learn that only about 15 of the 200 rooms were ever finished before the king's mysterious death by drowning in 1886. From this viewpoint, Ludwig could look down towards his boyhood home of Hohenschwangau Castle and the Alps.
