Lighthouse, Grand Turk
This lighthouse was built in London in 1852 and shipped to the island of Grand Turk in the Caribbean. It was necessary because an increasing number of shipwrecks in the shallows off the northern coast were threatening the island's salt trade.

Former Governor's House, Bonaire
Built in 1837 as the governor's home, this yellow building in the capital of Kralendijk is now the main government office building.

Fruit Boat, St. Lucia
This beat-up and colorful fruit boat, covered with the flags of many different nations, was a welcome sight to those swimming in the bay. Several people waded out into the water to purchase fresh fruit.

This part of the ship, Cafe al Bacio, was a favorite morning hangout for me. They served some of the best cappucinos and chocolate croissants I've had outside of Italy and France.
