Oldest House in Amsterdam

Amsterdam's oldest house, or Het Houten Huis, may be the oldest wooden house in the Netherlands. It is located in the Begijnhof at number 34. It was originally a tradesman's home.

I inherited this little cherub when I moved into my current home. He sits atop a few worn and cherished books of verse that my mother purchased for me, secondhand, when I was a child.

London Museum

This is the entrance of the marvelous Museum of Natural History in South Kensington, London. This ornate terracotta facade, built in 1881, was typical of high Victorian architecture. The interior of the museum has atmosphere to spare. Standing on the stairs of the main hall gives the illusion of being caught in one of those impossible M.C. Escher images. I've added several textures for a grunge effect.
