Chinaman's Hat

Although the actual name of the conical island seen in the distance is Mokoli'i, it is commonly known as Chinaman's Hat. This photo was taken from Kualoa Point on the east coast of Oahu.

Lei on Lava Rock

After arriving on Oahu and after checking into our hotel, we ran out to the beach to watch the sunset. Someone had placed this lei on one of the lava rocks near our hotel earlier in the day and it added a bright spot of color in the fading light. Textures from Shadowhouse Creations were added.

Hawaiian Ginger Root

This flower was part of the beautiful landscaping at the Royal Hawaiian hotel on Oahu. I confess I wasn't staying there, just walking through for a quick look. It's a very serene oasis in the midst of the shopping mecca that is Waikiki.
