Dubrovnik at Dusk

After a day of exploring Dubrovnik in a light misting rain, the clouds finally began to clear and the pastel colors of this old city began to emerge.

The Jesuit Church of Dubrovnik was finished in 1725. Although striking on the outside, the interior is rather plain.

Sailing Past St. Lawrence Fortress

This photo shows a small boat sailing past Fort Lovrijenac, also known as St. Lawrence Fortress, just outside the western wall of Dubrovnik. The fort was built in the 11th century to prevent theVenetians from gaining power.  I've added textures rom boccacino and leeber.

Strolling the Stradun

Dubrovnik's main street is the Stradun. It runs through the heart of the town connecting the Pila Gate with the Ploce gate. This photo was taken from the wall which surrounds the old town.

Dubrovnik's Old Port

Another favorite place of mine is Dubrovnik. You may have guessed by now that I love old Medieval towns. Despite the overcast weather and intermittent light rain, I thoroughly enjoyed my leisurely walk along the old town wall, stopping every few feet to take another photo because the views were just so amazing. Afterwards I walked through town and lunched on pizza at one of the many outdoor cafes...a perfect day!
