Potentiality

This began with a photo of the Alphabet Man, a metal sculpture which stands on the 10th deck of the Celebrity Constellation. I wish I had found out the artist, but alas, I did not and despite an extensive online search, I have yet to find any information about it.

Sunflower of the Week

This is the largest sunflower in our back yard. It's about 7 feet tall and curves down over our back wall. I'm betting it will be the first to turn to seed and make all the birds happy.

Caribbean Ice Storm

While experimenting with a photo that Travel Partner took, I chanced upon a frost texture and decided I liked the juxtaposition of warm with cold.

Lighthouse, Aruba

The California Lighthouse was built around 1914 and named for the steamship California which wrecked on a nearby beach in 1891. It is a favorite attraction on the island on Aruba, even though it is no longer open to the public.

Sundrenched

We have lots of sunflowers blooming in the yard now and I'm fascinated by all the different colors, sizes and clusters of blooms. This started off as a contrasty photo I took a couple of mornings ago, then I decided to add a texture from rubyblossom.

St. George's, Grenada

St. George's was our first look at The Spice Isle, as Grenada is known.The people of Grenada are very warm and welcoming and clearly love their island. They take pride in its beauty and bountiful fruit, fish and spices, particularly nutmeg.

First Flower

Somehow it feels like I've been away for months, instead of weeks. I had a nice, relaxing vacation in the Caribbean and then spent a week sorting through my photos. I'm ready to post again and instead of a vacation photo, I felt like working on a photo I took just this evening of a sunflower in our back yard garden. Go figure.
